2017-2018 Year in Review

PI Mens
Basketball

The Tarpons had a great run in the 2017-2018 basketball season. The team finished 9-5 in District & 20-13 Overall. They became the first ever PI BB team to win 2 playoff games in one year. Tarpons lost in the 3rd round to State Semi-Finalist Somerset 74-36. Standouts Juan Muniz, Fernando Lopez Jr, Tommy Zurita & Jesus Saldivar

2017 Football

The Tarpons suffered a down year in 2017 as they transitioned from a run-heavy offense to a more balanced offense. The team went through a series of crucial QB injuries that affected the transition. A total of 6 QBs saw action during the year. The team finished 2-7, but stil had a shot at the playoffs as they battled West Oso for the final playoff spot in week. The Tarpons lost a hard fought battle losing 30-35 to the Bears

Mariachi Plata

The Port Isabel Mariachi Plata secured a First Division Superior Rating at the UIL State Mariachi Festival. Congrats to lead singer, Michael Bernand and the rest of the group!

2018 Baseball

The Baseball team had a down yeas as they finished with a 2-8 District record and 2-12 Overall.

1st Team Pitcher, Jose A. Martinez

2nd Team Outfielder, Jeremy Martinez

Both players also invited to Sub 5A East-West All-Star Game.

2018 Softball

The team had a good season. PI finished 3rd in district.

2017 Womens Volleyball

The team had a good year as they finished 3rd in District. The team fell to West Oso in the Bi-District round 25-16, 25-18, 18-25, 25-21. The team will miss outgoing leaders like Olivia Soliz who will be attending Central Methodist Univ.

2018 Womens Soccer

The team has a good year. The team lost in the Bi-District round to IDEA Quest. The game went into double OT, but lost with a 3-2 score.
